Mix & match screens from multiple sources into a single dashboard

Mar 8, 2017

We have introduced a couple of new features that provides a lot more flexibility for customising your dashboards. You can now

  • Create multiple instances of a screen

  • Mix data from multiple sources into a single dashboard

  • Rename individual screens within your dashboard

You can now create multiple instances of screens. In the dashboard settings, there’s a link add new screen, which allows you to create new instances of any of the screens in your dashboard.

When you click the link, you'll be shown options for the new screen:

You can select any of the the available screens as the screen type. You can also choose the data source

  • In Jira, that means any of your Kanban or Scrum boards

  • In Trello, that means any of your Trello board

  • In Pivotal Tracker, that means any of your projects

This allows you to create multiple instances of a screen using the same data source but with different settings or filtering. But you can also create multiple instances of a screen using different data sources allowing you to consolidate all the screens across your various dashboards into a single dashboard if you want to. That means less switching between dashboards as now can simply collect all the screens you want into a single dashboard! You can even set these screens to aggregate data from multiple data sources.

When adding a new screen, you can provide a name for it. Wanna use your own names for each of the screens in your dashboard? You can do it if by first duplicating all the screens in your dashboard with new names, and then unselecting the original screens in the dashboard settings.

When using Screenful in a TV mode, you can mix screens from multiple dashboard into a single rotating slideshow. That means that you no longer need to resort to a browser plugins to rotate multiple dashboards at once!
