ClickUp units, metrics, and properties

This page describes the available units, metrics, and properties when creating a chart for an Asana data source.

Units

Units are the numbers shown in the charts. Unit can be any of these:

Task

The default unit is Task i.e. a chart displays the count of Tasks and subtasks.

Estimates

ClickUp's default estimation field to describe the size of a task.

Number field

Any of your Number custom fields can be used as a unit in the charts.

Formula field

Formula fields can be used as a unit in the charts as long as the value is a number.

Dropdown field

Dropdown fields are not available as a unit by default, but they can be mapped as units.

Time in state

Timing metrics (reaction, lead, cycle time). These are calculated for all tasks and subtasks.


Notice: We have limited support for the timing metrics in ClickUp data sources due to the limitation in the ClickUp API.

Time estimate

Estimated time to complete a task or subtask.

Time spent

Time logged to a time tracking field. The date range refers to when the time was logged.

All units share these characteristics:

  • They can be filtered by any property of an item

  • They can be summarized as sum, average, or median

  • They can be formatted as numbers, monetary units, or time units


Metrics

Metrics are the calculations performed on the selected unit.

Total

Shows the total amount of the selected unit in the selected data sources.

Not started

Work not started according to the workflow settings.

Not started & In progress

Incomplete work according to the workflow settings.

In progress

Work in progress according to the workflow settings.

Created (within date range)

Tasks by creation date (task creation date from the Asana API).

Completed (within date range)

Tasks by Date completed. The last date & time when the item was completed (checked as done or moved to a state mapped as done)

By Date closed

Tasks by Date closed. Includes items with the date within the specified date range.

By Date done

Tasks by Date done. Includes items with the date within the specified date range.

By Due date

Tasks by Due date. Includes items with the date within the specified date range.

By Start date

Tasks by Start date. Includes items with the date within the specified date range.

By [custom Date field]

Tasks by a custom Date field. Includes items with the date within the specified date range.

Reaction time (avg, completed items)

Time before the work was started. The average time spent in the states mapped as Not started in the workflow settings.

Item properties

Item properties that can be displayed as columns in a Task list.

Assignee

The assigned person

Assignees

The assigned persons (if multiple)

ClickUp status

ClickUp workflow field. It is used to indicate whether a task is not started, in progress, or completed.

Completed on time

Was the task completed before the due date (true/false).

Created by

The person who created the task.

Cycle time

Time from start to completion. The time spent in the states mapped as In progress in the workflow settings.

Cycle time (working hours)

Time from start to completion. The time spent in the states mapped as In progress in the workflow settings. Time is calculated only within the set working days and hours.

Data source

The Asana project the item is currently in.

Date closed

Task closed date (from the ClickUp API).

Date completed

The last date & time when the task was completed (moved to a state mapped as done).

Date created

Task creation date (from the ClickUp API).

Date done

Task done date (from the ClickUp API).

Date updated

Last update date (from the Asana API)

Due date

Due date of a task.

Estimate

Estimated effort to complete a task.

Folder

The folder where a task is assigned

Item type

Either Task or Subtask.

Lead time

Reaction time + Cycle time.

Lead time (working hours)

Reaction time + Cycle time. Time is calculated only within the set working days and hours.

List

The list where a task is assigned

Mapped state

Mapped workflow state according to the workflow settings. Either Not started, In progress, or Done.

Moved to mapped state

The time when the item was moved to its current mapped workflow state.

Moved to workflow state

The time when the item was moved to its current workflow state.

Parent

Parent item (task) of the item (subtask)

Priority

The priority of a task

Rank

A non-readable character sequence that can be used for ordering the tasks.

Reaction time

Time before the work was started. The time spent in the states mapped as Not started in the workflow settings.

Reopened

Whether the task has been reopened (true/false)

Start date

Start date of a task

State (open/done)

Tags assigned to the task.

Task ID

Unique identifier of the task (from the Asana API)

Task name

Name of the task.

Task type

Custom task type, such as Bug, Campaign, Epic, etc.

Time estimate

Estimated time to complete a task.
