Sunsetting the Dashboards feature
Oct 29, 2024
For the past couple of years we've had two sets of plans that reflect the main features of our product: Analytics & Reports, and the Dashboards. This has understandably created some confusion.
To streamline our product offering we have decided to sunset the Dashboards feature and plans. Read on to learn whether this affects your account or not, and which features are involved.

Who will be affected?
If you are in the Analytics & Reports plan, you can ignore this announcement as this won't affect your account in any way.
If you are in a Dashboards plan, you have the Dashboards tab on the top navigation that contains the automatically generated dashboards:
Starting on Jan 1st, 2025, that option will be removed from the navigation. You won't be able to access dashboards after that.
Background for the decision
We launched our Dashboards product in 2015 at Product Hunt (you can still see the listing here). With the Dashboards product, we wanted to introduce a simple way to track your productivity using data from tools like Jira, Trello, or GitHub. You just provide access to the APIs of your tools and get an instant dashboard.
While our initial product was well received, we also learned that our users wanted more configurability and alternative ways of sharing the metrics with stakeholders. To address those needs, we started working on the Analytics & Reports product in 2019.
In the following years, we introduced the Custom charts, the Reports, and the Insights tab, which provide powerful tools for tracking and sharing your KPIs. This involved a complete UI redesign to enable more diverse use cases.
With more flexibility in the UI, we also needed more flexibility in the backend. Over the last couple of years, we completely rebuilt our analytics engine. We now have industry-leading analytics capabilities that we will be introducing in the coming months and years.
Unfortunately, that also means saying goodbye to the features that the new architecture won't support.
What exactly is being sunset?
If you are in a Dashboards plan, you have the Dashboards tab on the top navigation:
Starting Jan 1st, 2025, that option will be removed from the navigation. You won't be able to access the Dashboards tab after that.
You may have also added custom charts to your dashboards. Those will still be available in the Charts tab.
Some of our older accounts also have a Sprints tab:
Starting Jan 1st, 2025, that option will be removed from the navigation. You won't be able to access the Sprints tab after that.
You won't be able to create sprints via the Screenful UI. The sprint planning tools will be discontinued, unfortunately. If you have used Screenful to create sprints, you should look for alternatives.
Can I still get the same metrics?
Yes. Most of the metrics you see in a dashboard are available in the Insights or can be created as custom charts.
The Insights tab contains these automatically generated dashboards:
Here are some of the charts available in the dashboards that you can create as custom charts in Analytics & Reports:
To share the charts with others, you can add them to a report. Created reports can be scheduled to be sent to selected stakeholders.

Do I need to take an action?
Your account will be automatically migrated to the corresponding Analytics & Reports plan, so you don't have to do anything. Your pricing will stay the same. On the positive side, your quota for data sources, custom charts, and reports will increase. You can learn more about the plans on the pricing page.
We recommend you book a call with one of our representatives to help you transition to the new features. If you have suggestions for our future roadmap, please let us know using the feedback form.
