Do you support monday.com formula columns?

Currently, we don’t support formula columns since the values of formula columns are not returned by the Monday API. However, there are two workarounds:

  • Use a Marketplace add-on such as Autoboost or General Caster to copy the formula value into a number column. After that, you can use that number column in your Screenful charts.

  • Use the calculated column in our Table chart to perform calculations between the columns.

Is there a way to remove outliers from the data?

If you want to exclude individual items from the metrics, you can do it by following the steps below

  1. Set a specific label or tag (e.g. "excluded") to the item you want to exclude (task, issue, user story etc.)

  2. Go to Screenful and reset the data source in the Data sync options

  3. Go to the chart in question and set a filter (e.g. label is none of 'excluded')

If the item is already archived, you have to unarchive it first. Then apply the steps 1-2. After that, you can archive it again.

Troubleshooting

I'm using Monday desktop app and I'm having issues with Screenful

Some features may not work when using Screenful in monday.com desktop app. You won't be able to import data sources because the authorization doesn't work in the desktop app. Also, some links in the UI may not be clickable when using the desktop app. When using Screenful, there are these alternatives to the monday.com desktop app.

I have created automation to move items from one monday.com board to another. Will that mess up my stats?

If an item is moved from board A to board B, you will lose the data about the item movements in board A since the Monday API won’t return it anymore. To avoid losing data, consider these alternatives:

  • Add a delay of at least two hours before moving an item. That leaves enough time for Screenful to register that the item was completed (sync runs once per hour)

  • Create a dedicated "Archived" group at the bottom of your board, and create an automation to move completed items to that group instead of another board.

I’m unable to authorise Monday data sources

If you’re using the Monday IP restrictions feature it will block access to the monday API, which the Screenful connector needs in order to fetch data. To enable Screenful whitelist the IP address 34.251.47.98 and contact support@screenful.com so we can finalize the configuration.

My charts are missing data

The likely reason is that your workflow mapping is not done correctly. You can learn more about the workflow mapping from this guide. If you do not use status columns in your board, you can always create charts based on date columns.

Monday API doesn't return archived items. So when you create a new data source, archived items won't be included. However, the completed items that you archive after that will be kept in the stats.

Notice also that if you want to include subitems in your charts, you must add subitem data sources as well.

I added a new custom field but it is not showing

When you add a new custom field to your board, it is imported during the next data sync (the data is synced automatically once per hour). You can trigger sync manually anytime by selecting Data sync options from the main menu. Notice that the new field should also have a value assigned in at least one task.

Some filtering options are missing

Filter options are derived from task data, which means that if you recently added some properties, such as labels, but haven't yet assigned them to any tasks, they won't show up in the filter options. As soon as you assign them to tasks, they will show up in the filter options from then on.
